Leeds United were heavily linked with MLS side Columbus Crew forward Gyasi Zardes in the summer. However, the club could not materialize the deal and the player stayed at the MLS club.
Gyasi Zardes, 28, had joined Columbus Crew from LA Galaxy in January 2018 and has since been one of their key players, scoring 19 goals in his debut season at the club.
Considering the vulnerability to find space going forward, Zardes’ goal-scoring exploits is something the Whites need to make sure they don’t miss out on promotion for yet another time. Leeds sit 3rd in the Championship table just 1 point adrift of the 2nd position and couple of points adrift League leaders West Bromwich Albion.
With the January Transfer window less than a month away, Bielsa needs to push trying to get valuables this winter. Striker seems a top priority as of now with Patrick Bamford not doing well of late and Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah is currently out injured complemented by him not given regular game time upfront.
Biesla’s side has struggled in the final third this season and the arrival of Zardes can solver their attacking problems. Zardes can also play on both wings and cause problems to the opposition backline. With the ability to create opportunities for his teammates and eye for goal, the USA international could be a great fit in Bielsa’s side.
