It’s been a roller-coaster of a couple of days for Junior Firpo, he just went from about boarding a plane to AC Milan to transpose his commute to Elland Road.
Calcio Mercato claimed earlier today that Leeds United ‘made the decisive thrust’ to bring Barcelona defender Junior Firpo to England and the agreement ‘will be closed in the next few hours’.
Leeds’ option of straight cash proved the break-through in landing Firpo. While Milan have lost the race to Leeds, Italian media has credited Radrizzani for clutching Junior Firpo in the eleventh hour while the reports in Spain have imputed the involvement of Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa.
Fabrizio Stamp – Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano also provided an update on the deal claiming Leeds are set to sign Junior Firpo for a fee of €15 million + add ons. Here is what he tweeted:
“Leeds are set to sign Junior Firpo from Barcelona, confirmed. The agreement will be completed for €15m + add ons, final details then deal done. #LUFC #FCB
AC Milan are currently out of the race as Barça prefer to sell Firpo on permanent deal, as reported by @tjuanmarti”
