Gracia brings with him a wealth of experience, having enjoyed a successful playing career in Spain before moving into management. He has previously managed a number of teams in Europe, including Watford and Valencia.
It is clear that Gracia is no stranger to the top-flight of English football, having previously taken charge of Watford in January 2018. At the time of his appointment, the club was in a precarious position, just five points above the relegation zone.
However, Gracia quickly proved his worth, helping Watford secure their Premier League status with games to spare. The club finished in 14th place, eight points above the relegation places.
In his first full season in charge, Gracia was named the Manager of the Month in August 2019, and he guided the Hornets to their highest-ever Premier League finish, placing 11th. He also led the club to the 2019 FA Cup final, which was just the second time in the club’s history.
Following his time in England, Gracia took over at La Liga side Valencia before his recent appointment at Al Sadd, where he helped the team win the Qatar Stars League.
Leeds United’s decision to appoint Gracia as their new head coach is an exciting one. The 52-year-old has a proven track record of success in the Premier League, and his experience in both Spain and Qatar will undoubtedly be invaluable.
The club will be hoping that Gracia can bring his winning mentality to Elland Road and help the team achieve their goals. The Whites are nineteenth in the Premier League. They need to find a way to stay afloat. Let’s hope Gracia can work magic yet again.
