Last Time:

The last time these sides met was back in 2014 where they met at Ellan Road for the FA Cup tournament where Leeds United beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in an intense battle where Luke Varney and Ross McCormack gave Leeds the early lead after which Clint Dempsey scored the only goal for Spurs. But now both teams have different managements, mangers and players so this time around it will be a different game altogether.

Team News:

In the last match, Leeds United faced West Bromwich Albion where they absolutely trashed them for 5 goals. This victory would have definitely lifted their spirits to play against a dynamic Spurs side who have been lingering in the Top 6 table so far.

Mateusz Klich could be in the starting lineup after picking up a knock against West Brom, but for any reason if he is not available Shackleton or Pablo Hernández could be called into the team to replace him and penalty duties would solely remain on Bamford’s shoulders.

Marcelo Bielsa largely praised the Spurs duo of Harry Kane & Heung-min Son for their incredible performance together this season. The duo have scored 20 goals and assisted 14 times between each other in the Premier League so far. Kane and Son have clicked very well together together this season and the stats speak for it as they combined so many goals together and are considered to be the deadliest duo this season.

Tottenham will be without Gareth Bale, Carlos Vinicius, Giovani Lo Celso and Lucas Moura who are all doubts for the fixture.

Who will be victorious?

As the season has progressed the way both teams have been playing a different types of football has been very pleasing to watch. While Tottenham attack on the counter, Leeds on the other hand, tire their opponents by unstoppable intense pressing. The styles of football could be the same tomorrow as Tottenham would like to absorb the Leeds pressure and then hurt them on the counter attack and Leeds would just never stop chasing their opponents and just keep creating scoring chances. Although if Tottenham start early counter attacks and manage to get early goals just like how Manchester United did against Leeds, Tottenham could easily win the game. But Leeds United will look to play with more focus aa they have already faced all 5 teams of the so called “Big 6” with only Tottenham remaining to play against. Therefore if the Bielsa manages to keep the Tottenham Kane-Son duo quiet he could definitely be victorious over Mourinho’s men.

An impressive win tomorrow could see Leeds climb up to 10th position or above if their opponents do them favours, while for Spurs it could take them to 5th place depending on results elsewhere.
