Leeds United claimed their second victory in a row after beating Burnley and West Bromwich Albion and also kept continuous clean sheets. Leeds scored 5 goals past the 19th positioned team at the Hawthorns. A Romaine Sawyers own goal, Ezgjan Alioski, Jack Harrison, Rodrigo Moreno and Raphinha saw Leeds beat West Brom with ease to climb up to 11th in the table.
Marcelo Bielsa made no changes to his Leeds side that won against Burnley while West Brom were also an unchanged side until Gibbs was replaced by Peltier at left-back.
The first goal came in the 9th minute from a bizarre back pass by Sawyers which saw the goalkeeper Johnstone off his line and resulted in a goal for Leeds. They went 3 goals up with goalscorers Alioski and Harrison scoring beautiful goals against the Baggies.
Alioski smashed the ball in the top corner from outside the box, while Harrison linked up with Bamford in a one touch play and curled it around the goalkeeper to make it 3-0 in 36 minutes. Rodrigo made it 4 in the 40th minute after his shot was deflected and completely wrong footed Johnstone.
In the second half until the 70th minute both teams were playing equally well trying to create chances to get a goal but in the 72nd minute Raphinha scored a screamer from outside the box after a great pass from Dallas. The Brazilian scored his magical left foot as the ball glided into the top corner with ease. West Brom never really had a had the confidence in the final third which stopped them from scoring. Leeds end 2020 with two back to back wins and clean sheets.
Leeds earned a comfortable 3 points as they climb to 11th place on level in points with West Ham. In the first game of 2021 Leeds will face a tricky Tottenham side but due to their match getting postponed against Fulham due to some positive cases in the camp it will be doubtful if Leeds vs Tottenham will take place.
