Leeds United midfielder Jamie Shackleton has committed his long term future to the club by extending his deal at Elland Road, the club have confirmed.
The 20-year-old has agreed a new four-year deal with Leeds which is expected to run until the summer of 2024.
Having joined the Whites at the age of seven, Shackleton went through the youth ranks successfully before gaining promotion into the first team.
The youngster made his maiden appearance for Leeds under Marcelo Bielsa in the 4-1 victory over Derby County in August 2018, before making his first start three days later in the Carabao Cup against Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road.

The midfielder spoke of his delight at signing a new deal with his boyhood club, just weeks after securing promotion to the Premier League.
“It’s an amazing feeling to have another four years at this club,” said Shackleton. “I’ve been at this club forever really in terms of my life, so to have another four years is fantastic.
“I joined aged seven along with Robbie Gotts and Alfie McCalmont and we’ve been in the same team from the very start, coming through all the age groups.
“We’re really close mates and for us all to be out there holding the Championship trophy together a few weeks ago was a special moment for us.
“My family have been brilliant throughout my whole journey, I don’t think without them I would be in this situation.
“My mum has been massive getting me to where I needed to be, back when I was seven or eight-years-old, taking me here, there and everywhere to train and without her, I wouldn’t be sat here today.
“I’ve racked up a few appearances coming off the bench and with a few starts, but I hadn’t had the goal and to get that ticked off away at Derby was a pretty special moment.
“Promotion to the Premier League still hasn’t sunk in yet and I don’t think it will until we get onto the pitch in the first game at Elland Road and I’m sure it will be amazing.”
During the 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship campaign, Shackleton made 22 appearances with five being as a starter. He also opened his scoring account for the club in July against Derby County before his first home goal came three days later against Charlton Athletic.
