Leeds United were linked with Club Brugge star Noa Lang both last summer and during the winter 2022 transfer window. The Whites were unable to sign the winger from the Belgian club, but that does not mean they have forgotten about him. According to a report by Italian news outlet Calciomercato.it, AC Milan are behind Leeds United in the race to sign the Dutch winger.
AC Milan, like the Premier League club, has the former Ajax player on their summer agenda. They are ‘pushing’ the intermediary and the player’s agent in order to ‘tighten the agreement.’ So yet, the Serie A champions have not committed to a date for Lang’s procedure. There are various reasons for this, one of which is the competition from Leeds United.
Lang’s priority is to join Milan this summer, but ‘concrete acts are needed’ to seal this deal. The meetings between his camp and the Italian champions have so far not seen an agreement and a new meeting is expected to take place next week.
Why is Noa Lang subject to interest from the English and Italian club?
Lang has been on the radar of numerous European clubs since his time at Ajax and the winger. AC Milan could be seeing their star winger Rafael Leao leave the San Siro this summer with Real Madrid seriously interested in landing the Portuguese after missing out on Kylian Mbappe according to various sources. Leeds are also in a similar situation as the Rossoneri with their Brazilian winger Raphinha edging closer to moving to FC Barcelona with personal terms agreed.
Noa Lang is a like for like replacement for Raphinha/Leao with the Dutch winger’s priority being the Serie A champions. Leeds United will have to act quickly and hijack the 22-year-old’s potential move to the San Siro.
