The Brazilian winger Raphinha has started his 2021/22 season in a scintillating style. He has stepped up in the absence of No. 9 Patrick Bamford. He is this season’s top scorer for Leeds United and has scored 5 goals in 10 matches, the majority of the goals coming from outside the penalty area. Raphinha has previously played for Vitoria Guimaraes and Sporting Clube de Portugal, Stade Rennais in France, and currently for Leeds United.

He has been called up by the international team in October for the first time considering his performance in the Premier League and is already proving to be a crucial pick for the squad.

Raphinha has been consistently linked with a move to Liverpool since arriving in England last season and the rumors were validated when last month Raphinha’s agent Deco confirmed that Liverpool is indeed interested in the Leeds winger.

He told Global Esporte, “He is young, he has many challenges ahead, there are certainly several clubs that like him, and Liverpool do like him, there were approaches, but nothing official”.

Liverpool’s current defensive midfielder Fabinho also showed intent by saying “hoping that would happen” after hearing of Liverpool’s interest in his Brazilian teammate.

After scoring the drawing goal against Leicester, BBC pundit Garth Crooks selected Raphinha in his team of the week and also said, “Against Leicester, it was impossible to ignore the Brazilian again, It’s painfully obvious to me that here is a player who sets Elland Road alight, but the question is for how long. Raphinha is a top-class player and most of them play in the Champions League. It’s only a matter of time.”

Raphinha is showing his class by putting in consistent performances and is being noticed by top clubs of the world. Would he be able to start for Liverpool considering they have Mane and Salah or be a bench warmer? Should he stay at Leeds or move to another club do let us know.
