Leeds United are looking to strengthen their squad further to challenge the top 6 clubs for European football. In what marked the Whites return to the Premier League after 16 years, Leeds United finished 9th in the table which was quite impressive. They were just 3 points away from Tottenham Hotspur who qualified for the Europa Conference League.

Now the Whites focus is on qualifying for the European football and with the induction of the new Europa Conference League, that dream seems closer than ever. The Leeds based club is now targeting a midfielder after already completing five signings in this summer transfer window.

According to various reports, Leeds United are currently plotting a move for Chelsea’s youngster Conor Gallagher. The 21-year-old is highly rated at Stamford Bridge. Both Chelsea and the representatives of Conor Gallagher are looking for a club to move him away from the London side for some game time. It is hard for anyone from the academy to start into that world-class midfield of Chelsea. The blues highly rate Conor and will only sanction a loan move and not a permanent one.

Conor Gallagher came through the ranks of Chelsea’s academy and has recently gone through many loan spells. He has featured for Swansea City, Charlton, and West Brom. The most recent one was with West Brom in the last season. The 21-year-old featured 30 times and scored 2 goals in the Premier League last season. He also provided 2 assists.

Leeds United are looking to add depth to their midfield for a long season and they have identified Conor Gallagher as the ideal candidate for the transfer. The Whites are not the only club in talks to bring over Conor Gallagher. Even Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are as much interested as Leeds United. The Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has personally conveyed to Conor that he will be given minutes at Leeds United and that he would be in the first-team plans. The youngster would get to learn a lot from one of the best minds in the game, Marcelo Bielsa.
