According to RMC Sport, Patrick Vieira is close to becoming the new manager of French club Strasbourg, even though there have been reports of him having discussions with Leeds United. There is optimism among all parties involved regarding the move, and it is anticipated that Vieira will choose to join Strasbourg instead of Leeds United, despite any apparent interest from the latter.
After Karel Geraerts dropped out of consideration, Vieira has emerged as the frontrunner for the position. He has reached a preliminary agreement with Strasbourg and has already been in contact with the club’s management.
After being dismissed by Crystal Palace in March, Vieira has remained unemployed and has been rumoured to be a potential candidate for the managerial role at Leeds United. However, there have been no significant developments regarding Leeds. On the other hand, Strasbourg’s new owners, the American consortium BlueCo, who also own Chelsea, have taken action to secure Vieira’s services.
If the deal is completed, it would signify Vieira’s second stint as a manager in Ligue 1, as he previously managed OGC Nice from 2018 to 2020.
